My name is Carla Friedman. I am a native of Fargo, North Dakota. I graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications. For six years I served as the Youth Program Manager for the Governor’s Office of Youth, Faith and Family in Phoenix, Arizona, where I was responsible for leading the Governor’s Youth Commission consisting of fifty-two high school students from all of Arizona’s fifteen counties. I led the commission in volunteerism throughout the state and for the last three years, Arizona has ranked number one in the world for youth-led service projects for Global Youth Service Day. I also served as staff support on the Arizona Governor’s Commission on Service and Volunteerism and implemented the annual Governor’s Volunteer Service Awards reception. In my free time I enjoy traveling and staying in shape by practicing Pilates, yoga, and hiking.
